Beta announces new leadership team as the network eyes its next phase of growth and development

Updated: 2 days ago

Since its launch in October 2021, BETA has seen a tremendous growth in membership and has witnessed many exciting growth stories through connections made via the platform. In the last 12 months alone, the network has facilitated more than 100 prospective client introductions and meetings for BETA members, placed more than 10 mentors and strategic advisors into early-stage start-ups and our members have collectively raised more than £150M.

Our ambition is to continue the growth of the network by creating more international connections, particularly throughout Europe, US and within more verticals throughout the Built Environment. In line with our renewed growth plan, we are delighted to announce a new leadership team that will be taking BETA through this next exciting phase of growth.

George Dobbins will lead the new-look beta team. He is the original Founder for BETA and has a strong track record supporting organisations across the built environment. Primarily working throughout the infrastructure, construction and technology markets, George has partnered with organisations throughout the UK, USA and Europe, ranging from PLC’s to private equity backed and high-growth start-ups.

Lucy Wright joins the BETA team as Head of Membership, EMEA. She has a wealth of experience working with early stage and high-growth businesses across the Real Estate & Built Environment. Having worked high-profile technology businesses and Founders, Lucy has developed an in-depth understanding for success characteristics within early and mid-stage businesses.

Edward Pettifer joins the BETA team as Head of Events and Marketing. He will be supported by Imogen McKay as they continue to deliver a calendar of engaging events, networking opportunities and insights.

As part of these changes, we will also be saying goodbye to Aidan Lewis who has decided to step down from his role as Head of Partnerships, effective from 1st September 2023. Aidan has led BETA over the last 12 months and has made invaluable contributions to the network. He has put in place several key partnerships including the likes of Procore, Ibstock and Saint-Gobain. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Aidan for his outstanding contributions and wish him well in his new role. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with him in the future.
